چکیده

Atopic dermatitis (AD) and bullous pemphigoid (BP) are inflammatory skin diseases associated with intense pruritus significant quality of life (QOL) impact. While they differ in classical presentation (eczematous eruption vs urticaria blisters) population characteristics (young-to middle-aged persons elderly), early stages BP can appear similar to AD clinically histologically. As part this observational cohort study, we investigated whether there were differences anxiety depression between the cohorts at baseline over time. This study included 93 patients either (50) or (43) a history chronic pruritus. Our was mostly female (61%), mean ages 47.2 72.2 (BP), severity scores 35.9 (AD, SCORAD) 19.1 (BP, BPDAI). The Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale used measure (HADS-D) (HADS-A). At baseline, had overall higher HADS-D scores, 6.14 ± 4.4 compared 4.33 (p = 0.023) indicating greater depressive symptoms, although HADS-A both “Normal” range (score ≤7). Notably, 31% 16% “Borderline/Abnormal” for 38% 30% anxiety. noted be increased no found follow-up visits BP. There changes HADS time within each cohort. Both (PCC 0.424, p<0.01) 0.235, p=0.038) significantly correlated itch measured using ItchyQuant. important aspects patient care consider such as that greatly impact QOL. Clinicians should particularly mindful it relates severity.

IL-17 Expression in Dermatitis Herpetiformis and Bullous Pemphigoid

Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) and bullous pemphigoid (BP) are skin diseases associated with eosinophilic and neutrophilic infiltrations. Although cytokines are critical for the inflammatory process, there are single findings concerning concentration of IL-17 in bullous diseases. The goal of this study was to assess IL-17 expression in DH and BP patients. Skin biopsies were taken from 10 DH, 14 ...

Mediators of Mast Cells in Bullous Pemphigoid and Dermatitis Herpetiformis

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) are skin diseases associated with inflammation. However, few findings exist concerning the role of mast cells in autoimmune blistering disease. Skin biopsies were taken from 27 BP and 14 DH patients, as well as 20 healthy individuals. Immunohistochemistry was used to identify the localization and mast cell expression of TNFα and MMP9 in ...
